Unified Theater is heading off to college! That's right, we are now piloting our program at colleges and universities across the country. If you want to continue your Unified Theater experience at your own college, university or post-high school institution, please contact Jen McCool at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are several ways you can participate in UTSquared:
- Start a Unified Theater club on your campus. Bring together students with and without disabilities to create an original production, just like in high school. Only we think you'll be capable of even more! We have a UTSquared Handbook just for you with suggestions, helpful hints and curriculum specifically geared to the university level. We'll even provide a training for your leaders and check in with rehearsal visits and video chats throughout the year.
- Help us with middle and high school outreach in your area. If you live in one of our existing markets (click here for info), we could use your help to reach out to schools in your community. Have a connection through the education department at your university? Maybe you or someone you know will be student teaching and you'd like to help start a Unified Theater program at that school? If you love Unified and want to help us spread the word, let us know! You can accompany us on outreach meetings and even help support a new program at a local middle or high school.
- Fundraising. As a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization, Unified Theater makes an awesome beneficiary for fundraising events on campus. You could sell cupcakes or fun UT gear, partner with a local business for a special event where part of the proceeds benefit Unified Theater or maybe your fraternity or sorority is looking for a charity to sponsor for their next big event. Use one of these ideas or brainstorm your own! You'll be supporting a good cause and helping to bring Unified Theater to even more students as well as helping to raise awareness for inclusion around your campus.
